Most of the previous matches were low scroing match.
It's good to see that BD team made a stadard score this time with a century from Shamsu. It was too much for the Australians (!!!) though.

finally a century from a bd batsman in an OD game. and this mushfiq kid is amazimg - i bet his 40* was a quick one, considering that he bats low down the order and that he was there till the end.

No disrespect to your team, but they played against some very young players in the final two games of the tour. Quite a few 15 and 16 year olds featured, most of which are fringe Provincial age players. Good result, but did you expect anything less from your national under 19 side?

hey, marsh man, first off, welcome to the forum.
secondly, our u19 team is formed of players who would be able to play the u19 world cup next year. that means, no one there is above 18 years old. 15-16 years old does not make too big of a difference. besides, its australia that we are talking about, right? moreover, they did play some team consisting older players and keeping up a very good record: 7win 1 tie out of 8. so no lose. yeah, this is very good from our point of view. but it would be really good if you can put some light on the game from a different perspective.

yeap true agentsmith bhai.
well i am just happy that they won. because for most of them actually for all of them it is their first time playing in foreign soil. so that is always a different experience. and i am sure this U19 are used to playing infront of a big crowd which obviously they miss that in australia. because as far as i know u can not count more than 40 people on the field. so win is a win at the end of the day. and that is what i am proud of. keep going guys. keep it up.

Copied from the other thread here:
Game 8 scorecard below.
Shamsu Rahman cracked the first ton of the tour, after the boys bounced back from a dissapointing match yesterday where they just weren't ready to play mentally.
We lost the toss and were sent in making 6 for 268 with Shamsu 101, Mehid Hassan 33 and Mushfiq 40 not out leading the way.
The Regional QAS squad were then bowled out for 117 with Rajon adjusting better today to the wicket taking 4 for 12 from 7 overs. Yesterday our spinners bowled too quick and were swept and driven with ease.
Milon also had a good day, walking in and hitting the last ball of the innings and his first ball for 6, before taking 2 for 10 from 8 overs with the ball.
Game 8: Bangladesh U19 v QAS RTS Northern
Willows Cricket Ground, Townsville
QAS RTP won the toss and bowled on green bouncy wicket

Since the game is gonna be in Srilanka... maybe playing against Pak/India would've also boosted the morale of our team. For some reason, I am starting to think that Aussie U19 is not that much of a stronger team after all compared to the Asian counter parts. No disrespect to the wins... I am confident that this team will also show their strength against those teams too..

Sunshine Coast Schorchers looked a very good team and still our u/19 won both games against them convincily.
The most important thing about this tour is it is increasing the confidence level of u/19. Playing in Australian pitches against any decent opponent and winning is great experience.
But I agree with Dhakablues that the team should have enough practice playing in subcontinental spinning pitches (playing some decent spinners who are not all SLAs) before youth WC in Srilanka.

to note: aiyub's 101 came off 97 deliveries. not only did a bd batsman score a century, he also did it in style and pretty quickly, and the team as a whole scored above 260. rare scene in OD's featuring bd players.

it was Shamsu Rahman who made the 100 not Marshall Ayub.
With regard to the U19 replacing the National team, that is a bit silly, there is a long way to go before these guys can compete any better then the current players in the test arena. However a point of note is that, i think there are 8 players who toured England last year with the U19's who are going this year with the Test or ODI squad:
Nafees Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Talha Jubair, Enamul Haque, Nafees Ahmed, Rajib, Nazmul Hossain and Mushfiq Rahim so we have almost replaced the National team with the U19's from last year. These guys now need to prove they have deserved the opportunity at the next level, they are only at the start of their journey, not the end, which has been a common thought amongst our cricketing circles. Making the national team should not be the goal. Playing well when you make it, should be the goal. Lets see if we can not get more 10 year players, then we will be successful.

Totally agree with you, Herr coach. I'd love to see Shahriar Nafees proves himself in practice matches to grab the opening slot in Javed's place. A left-right opening combo will be more effective.
Yes, replacing the national team with U-19 team must be a joke, but I think the U-19 boys would give a hard fight if a practice match could be arranged between U-19 and the national team prior to their tour to England.

No its not. He never mentioned when. In future why not... they are all talented future prospect. Lot of them will end up in our national team one time or another.
Also if there is a series of one day warmup games between our national and u-19, lot of people will be surprised with the result. Does that mena they are ready for prime time right now? Ofcourse not.
