South Africa has won the toss and elected to field. Our team is unchanged from that which played against WI. I hope the batsmen can avoid humiliation. Good luck to Bangladesh!

February 22, 2003, 03:17 AM
Bangladesh 3 for 1. Got out trying to hit the ball over the in-field. He will never learn!

February 22, 2003, 03:37 AM
Caught behind of Ntini for 6. BD 14 for 2 now!

February 22, 2003, 03:39 AM
Ashraful for 6 leaving Bangladesh 14/2 in 7 overs reall bad performance again what was expected....these ppl didn't learn a single thing from their mistakes....the pressure again will be on our innocent bowlers!!

February 22, 2003, 03:48 AM
Ehsanul gone....holly these don't even know how to stay...Bangladesh now 21/3...again repitation of the same story from Srilanka

February 22, 2003, 03:48 AM
Caught at mid off for 3 off 30 balls. Played and missed quite a few, so this comes as no surprise. Bangladesh 21 for 3.

February 22, 2003, 03:51 AM
One more humiliating defeat will be added to Bangladesh once again

February 22, 2003, 03:53 AM
Ashraful and Ehsanul were looking but as like before they again played irresponsible shots!!!! Don't see any improvement on batting!!!!

February 22, 2003, 03:55 AM
I afraid Kapali will be gone soon man....he's missing too many shots....Allah help us!!!

February 22, 2003, 04:07 AM
Bangladesh 33/4....am I dreaming they r repeating their old performances again...man I don't understand what the hell is goin on in our team

February 22, 2003, 04:10 AM
Hopefully we will avoid the lowest score in ODIs, which is 3 runs away.

February 22, 2003, 04:12 AM
33 for 5 now. That lowest score is now looking like a possibility.

February 22, 2003, 04:13 AM
Take a brief look at the score card
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :
Al Sahariar c R J Peterson b S M Pollock 0 12
Ehsanul Haque c M Zondeki b S M Pollock 3
Mohammad Ashraful c M V Boucher b M Ntini 6
Sanwar Hossain c J H Kallis b A J Hall 11
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::

I would say Kenyan plays a lot better than us & reserve a loss to kenya too.
This is very unresponsible cricket......We must play a positive cricket but when will they play a positive cricket???

February 22, 2003, 04:22 AM
Ehsan hit the chat

February 22, 2003, 04:24 AM
I guess Akram would have at least done better than these people....although he wasn't in good form recently but dat doesn't means that he can't score even 10-20 runs which would have help our bowlers.

February 22, 2003, 04:25 AM
40% of our runs came from Extras

February 22, 2003, 04:30 AM
I stopped watching the game after 5th wicket. Cant take it anymore. The torment is killing me.

Anyway, Seejan's charging down against Pollok was pretty stupid. He wasn't even set on the wicket and he dances down the track. What a moron. Couldn't even make a contact (in both of his attempts).

Deshe era land korle Zia airport-er shamney gono dholai khaitey parey. Jodi kenya's shathe ei obostha hoi tobe amader ar cricket khelar dorkar nai.

I thought Ash had some fighting spirit, where is it? Only a 4 and he is gone. F**k these people. They can't play cricket for crying out loud. So why even bother?

Country of 130 million cant produce 11 good cricketers? I won't accept that. We are surely doing something wrong!

February 22, 2003, 04:32 AM
We are doing a lot wrong. As a matter of fact, we are doing little right!

February 22, 2003, 04:40 AM
In 19.2 overs. Mashud on 9 and Imran on 4.

February 22, 2003, 04:46 AM
Tushar gone for 9!

February 22, 2003, 05:13 AM
We have gone past our lowest score in ODIs. Anything more is bonus for me!

February 22, 2003, 05:30 AM
masud gone :(

February 22, 2003, 05:31 AM
91 for 7 now. Hope we cross the 100 mark!

February 22, 2003, 05:35 AM
Another wicket

February 22, 2003, 05:36 AM
Just when you think that we can't make things any worse for ourselves, you get proved wrong!

February 22, 2003, 05:39 AM
Monju gone for a duck! Captain of the bunnies team, he deserves that!

February 22, 2003, 05:42 AM
Yaaay! 103 for 9!

February 22, 2003, 05:45 AM
all over 108/10

February 22, 2003, 05:47 AM
Bangladesh all out for 108....can't hope anything from this team....will never win a single match in WC & would repeat the same mistake again & again

February 22, 2003, 05:48 AM
Sujon last man to go for 23. We lasted all of 35.1 overs. Highest scorer for BD: Pilot!

February 22, 2003, 06:07 AM
Included two 4s and three wides!

February 22, 2003, 06:14 AM
yet again, mashud was BD's saving grace followed closely by mahmud.atleast we made it to 100+ now only a miraculous performance from the bowlers can save us from anothing defeat...but i guess im asking for too much.

February 22, 2003, 06:20 AM
guys, i'm switching off the TV and going to the pub.

February 22, 2003, 07:28 AM
SA win by 10 wickets and in 12 overs! They came out trying to boost their net runrate and that is exactly what they have done. Another humiliating defeat for Bangladesh!

February 22, 2003, 07:35 AM
Can we forfeit the game against Kenya? This just isn't our World Cup. We'll win it in 2007 though...a big 'inshallah' to that.

February 22, 2003, 12:14 PM
When will this sad tale end? We have consistently scored between 100 and 125 in these 4 WC matches so far. We cannot expect any different result in the next 2 matches. The thing that is of concern is that we are getting worse than some of the non-test playing nations. I am not saying this out of frustration, but if we were asked to qualify for the World Cup again, there is a distinct possibility that we might not be able to do so.

So is anyone in the management thinking about the real problems? Nazim has clearly pointed out some issues:

1. Players should not be changed too soon.
2. One that I liked most is that there is not too much difference in the players abilities in any case.
3. Past players should have more contribution in the development of our cricket.

I know what will happen after the team lands in Dhaka. There will be some scapegoats, some heads would roll. The Coach will be fired and similar short term fixes would be looked at. We will be where we are.

February 22, 2003, 01:15 PM
That Pilot is screwing up everything. :)

So far, we have 120, 124, 32/2 and 108. WOW. Century in three matches and was denied by rain in the other one. Amazing.

Ash looked confident but too cocky and too small - way too small. We should make good use of him by playing him down the order.
Sanwar looked the most composed before he knicked it. When I opened up my TV, BD was at 5 for 1 after 5 overs. Thought, wow, did the batsmen really learn ? And saw Ash hit those balls quite good. 10 overs later, I was in bed, watching yet another miserable (unexcusable) performance from the top six.

I am even more glad that I didn't wait to watch our bowling. Talha is very very inexperienced for this.

Instead of sending this team to Australia, we should appeal to send the team to ICC Trophy (as Bangladesh A) and send them out to play against opponents that we have a chance to beat from time to time. One of them will be Kenya. We should immediately set up a tour of kenya and send the national team as the A team, just like the Kneyans do.

Kenya play in all sorts of tournaments against the other ICC sides and get a boost from defeating them, we need that to boost our attitude.
