I read about this, it is great for SL cricketers, and even though SL CB is not overflowing with cash, somehow they have done the right thing in paying all these players a small allowance which at least keep them in the cricketing fraternity, and they dont have to leave cricket and run to seek a job in order to earn a living. The young umarried cricketers live at home, so they dont need a lot of money to live. This has happened in SL cricket up to a few years ago, many of them wer good cricketers, but because they were not sure of their cricketing future, many have even emigrated to other countries. Now, they are paying a bit of money to keep the talent even though some of these players will never get a chance to play in the national team, but at least they earn enough money to survive and play cricket.
I am sure that BCB could have at least 15 more players who are not part of the National Squad and pay them as rookies. These guys have to try and play club cricket and the NCL to earn some money
If they at least follow some of SL's example, BD cricket will improve, but do they have the cricketer's interest and the country at heart, but only think about keeping the money in the Board's coffers?
