Default But what about the Mindset?

A very good point raised... lets extend the list bit further:

Bashar...Ashraful...Nafees even upto an extent...Aftab as well..

To be more accurate, these current set of players are possibly most potential to become COMPLETE BATSMEN. The reason I am using the word ‘Complete’ is their skill on wide range of strokeplays. A batsman of real CLASS, probably, posses some dominant qualities somewhat like these:

*Comfortable & Solid Defense
*Totally Spontaneous REFLEX
*Skill of Working the ball around plus Clean Placement/Timing of the ball when he plays a STROKE
*Finally, and most importantly, the MINDSET to understand the need of the SITUATION with extreme patience & the NERVE to respond to it accordingly!!

So many of us may think that Bashar/Ash is pretty poor in ‘Defensive’ mode but I would disagree on that, because both of them already have shown their ability to build ‘Confident & Solid Innings’ atleast on few occasions.

But the reason that they are not ‘Complete Class Batsmen’ yet... is definitely the lack of the MINDSET to build their innings through any & all situations. So far, none of our batsmen have really shown this Character of nerves consistently enough, unfortunately! But they do play upto their potential and yet upto the demand of the situations sometimes, only occasionally ... one example of that can be the very recent 121 by Nafees himself.

Personally, I believe, that a batsman can only be remarkable if he has a combination of techniques of Defense+Strokes+Strike-Rotating-Capability... but the whole combination only works when the MINDSET to apply it is also there..

These(Bashar/Ash/Nafees/Aftab.. and few more to come from the juniors) are good talented players... no doubt... but Its probably a matter of Time & Experience that they MATURE up with the mentality to become more COMPLETE... and that experience is more related to their ‘Match-background’ rather then just ‘Age’.
