Default Cricketing action await the fans

With little activity during the last couple of months for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, the countries current most favourite sport is going through a period that can easily be dubbed ‘dull’.

The Tigers were last in action against Australia back in April and were busy with a tight schedule through out the season before that, keeping the fans and the followers on their toes. And consequently, the silence that currently prevails at the home of cricket seems a little too much.

Even the hotly debated issue of signing the new national coach has seemingly bitten the dust, at least for now.

However, the spectators can expect some action again come this August starting with the Zimbabwe Tour when the Tigers will lock horns against the hosts in 5 ODIs and one Test match. The ODIs will surely have a weight of their own but the lime light will be more on the only longer version of the game.

Zimbabwe went into a self exile from Test cricket in late 2005 due to their below average performance. But they will once again be seen in their white outfit and the hosts will surely empty their baskets to seal the match.

On the other hand, Bangladesh played their last Test back in June 2010. The tigers will hold on to the reins tight to steer their respect towards a safer position.

In October, after almost nine years the Carribeans are fixed to make their second tour of Bangladesh for a bilateral series

which will surely spice things up for the local crowd. With three ODIs and two Tests on the schedule the visitors will try to hold on to their superiority over the Tigers while the hosts will try to avenge their humiliating nine-wicket defeat in the World Cup 2011, where the local boys were bundled out for only 58 runs.

There might be some T20 actions as well, for which BCB has already made an offer. In the last month of this year Pakistan are expected to play the Tigers in three ODIs two Test matches and a probable T20 match.

However, England who were expected to visit Bangladesh after their India tour in November for three ODI matches have already called off the tour.
