Guessing:
1) In basketball it is "Feed the hot hand". Similar case i think. Shahadat did bowl his 6th and 7th over well. Don't change when it is working.
2) New ball bowler vs roughed up ball bowler. We would never know how the step-child would do in those dying overs. (remember Shahadat's hattrick)
3) Death bowling, taking pressure, may be predetermined. That one slower yorker Sarapova bowled to Malinga was as good as it gets.
