It was love at first taste for me! Had 'em raw on the half shell with a squeeze of lemon for the first time at 13. Also oysters rockefeller, BBQed or Broiled oysters with Tequila cocktail sauce, Korean kim-chi jighe with oysters, and steamed with Chinese black bean sauce, ginger and scallions ... YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Also great deep fried, in a ciopinno or bouillabaisse, and of course in a gumbo. I love mussels, clams, conch and scallops also.
