I am still on the fence about Anam. I don't know whether he's ready for the big time yet. He certainly looks more ready than most other Bangladeshi #2 and #3 batsmen out there, but someone with his innate abilities may need to be shielded from international cricket for a while longer and nurtured more before throwing him in at the deep end again..
I thought he was a more accomplished batsman than he ultimately appeared to be in yesterday's game. Footwork was non-existent for much of his innings. I don't know if he generally relies on timing alone or whether he was simply too nervous to use his feet. Time will tell.
One thing is for sure, however. In terms of ability, he's head and shoulders above Imrul, Jahurul, Junaid, Nafees, Nazimuddin et al, all of whom are very limited players and no longer have as much time on their side.
