Were they successful? Did they have impeccable control over their line and length and were able to out think the batsmen? Could they swing a new bowl? And Rubel does not have the built! He is actually quite tiny by fast bowling standards. Goes to show that one doesn't have to be a hulk to bowl "fast".

Pakistan in their glory days did have greentops...at least, for Test matches. And, comparing BD to Pak or Aus isn't fair, either. They have been playing Test cricket for almost 100 years and have a cricket culture in place. We are not there yet. And, with our inherent learning dificulties it might take another decade or two to create such culture.
Mindset is the problem with our pacers. Their not the fastest but they are certainly quick enough to give batsmen trouble. Problem is they try to do too much when they aren't getting wickets. That's where the temperament comes in which our guys don't have. Also they try to beat the batsmen with sheer pace rather than accuracy, discipline, or moving the ball off the seam, swinging the ball.

Obviously these teams have played a lot longer which we can't do much about but it certainly doesn't help if our players are not learning and also BCB not giving proper support.
