yeah...these games often do end up being a picnic for many players. But how can one forget the excitement these matches produce...well, not in all of them, but some do, for sure. If you had seen the Asia XI vs The Rest of the World XI match played in Dhaka during that ICC Cricket Week in April 2000, you'll know what i am talking about.

... but, in the same token, I myself dont prefer these matches being granted official status. Cricket is mainly as an international game, with one country squaring off against another, unlike Major League Sports of North America, or Soccer leagues in Europe, whose basis is club vs clubs. So, having these All-star matches given official status means the stats will infact come as a player vs player basis.

Am i making sense at all ? I am too tired but this forum is addicting!!!
