The ranking as it stands now is stale and rigid.

No real opportunity to topple or move up if you beat a higher rank.

Think college football or college basketball where every upset means something in rankings.

Bangladesh shouldn’t have jumped one position after beating PAK, IND & SAF back to back to back a few years back. That jump should have been +5 UP because of opposition rank.


NOW:

the super league conveniently leaves out India Pakistan and an increasingly young Aus away from bangla troubles... which is understandable. Can’t have them put under pressure in the next 3 match series if they drop a series to Ban. That would be a terrible loss of revenue.
