I didn't mean in time. Ali had beaten other contenders much quicker than he did Floyd Patterson including 1st round knockouts (although I think Tyson has the most quickest K.O.s). This one lasted 12 rounds but he kept openly mocking the contender while beating him mercilessly. And I think before the fight he also declared to the reporters that he will beat Floyd so bad for insulting his muslim name like nothing before. And obviously relished doing it so publicly for 12 rounds until referee stopped the match and declared him a winner. Haven't heard of a comparable championship match.
He also may have played the most number of world championship fights (from 1964 to 1981 I think), but I could be wrong.
