Holders Victoria Sporting Club take on the Development Squad (Under-19) of Bangladesh Cricket Board as the GrameenPhone Premier Division Cricket League begins tomorrow.

Favourites and last year's runners-up Mohammedan Sporting Club face promotees Indira Road Krira Chakra at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium while Bangladesh Biman play Orient Sporting Club at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium.


The CCDM (Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolitan) released a partial fixture yesterday.


The winners of the first round matches except the Development Squad will get six points while points will be equally distributed to both sides if a match is tied.


Teams winning against the Development Squad will not get six points. Instead, they will be awarded two bonus points. The Board team who are allowed to participate only in the first round one-day matches, will not get any points at all.


Top six teams after the first round will play in the super league, which will be four-day affairs.

Although CCDM chairman Shah Nurul Kabir on Wednesday said that there would be three-day matches in the super league, but most of the clubs later opted for four-day matches in order to get results.
