According to a list compiled by RAW after Independence, a list obtained from the Pak Army, there were close to 74.000 Razakar "combatants". A majority of them were conscripts from EP Ansars, but the entire political slash military leadership came from Jamaat and "Islamic" parties, including the Muslim League, most notably in Chittagong. We also need to remember Jamaat's close connections with Yahiya and his men within the Pak Army.
Today, most of that leadership is still with the same parties under the now-defunct "protection" of both BNP and BAL at the
thana level of party politics.
