Morale boosting win for B'desh
The Bangladesh national cricket team who are currently touring Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup limited overs tournament, scored a morale boosting 129 run win over the Sri Lanka 'A' - 2 team in a one day warm up match played at the Police Park in Bambalapitiya yesterday.
The visitiors piled up a commanding 265 for 7 from their 50 overs with Asharaful stroking a delightful 125 from 134 balls with 18 fours. He also put on 107 runs for the fourth wicket along with I. Hossein who missed his half century by a single run.
The home team in reply made a promising start but lost wickets at regular intervals and collapsed to 136 for 9 against some accurate bowling from Mahamoob and Rahaman.
Shantha Kalawitigoda provided the only threat to Bangladesh with a top score of 63 from 83 balls which also included two sixes and seven boundaries.
