Arsenal striker Eduardo underwent surgery for a double compound fracture of his leg on Saturday after suffering a horrific injury against Birmingham.

The Croatia international will miss the rest of the season and Euro 2008, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said he fears a "much longer" absence.

Croatia manager Slaven Bilic added: "This is horrible. The fact he won't play at the Euros is less important.

"Most important is he recovers as soon as possible and resumes his career."
