Well your post number 51 quotes the Polish president saying:

A missile shield in Europe will serve US's interest strategically and Polish interest (and those who chose to take part in it as well) by fending off bad boys in Kremlin. So its not just America's interest but rather mutual interest (Polish AND American).

I remember in days immediately after september 11, Bangladesh offering itself as base when US was contemplating invading Afghanistan. When its time for chamchagiri, any weak country is up for it. Thats just how politics is played.
