Default cold meat

the eating of cold meat seems to be far more common in the colder climes. perhaps this is natural as meat would not rot so quickly as it would do in warmer conditions. i can't think of any traditional recipes from the indian subcontinent that serves cold or unheated meat. are there any?

i gave up eating meat in the mid nineties. even before then i had not been a great meat eater from the early nineties onwards. however, as a child i remember a recipe from my mother that utilised qurbani meat. the meat was cured and marinated somehow. then it went in the fridge and stayed there. it was called 'salted' and we later ate it with mustard. i don't think this would have been a traditional bangladeshi recipe anyway.

any thoughts?
