Pakistan to play an additional Twenty20 during Bangladesh tour

KARACHI, Jan 20 (APP): Pakistan will play an additional Twenty20 International during their tour to Bangladesh in March besides series of five One‑Day Internationals and one Twenty20, Chief Operating Officer, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Salim Altaf said here on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Cricket Board has sent a request to PCB for an additional twenty20 which has been accepted, he told reporters in the media centre at the National Stadium. He said Pakistan would be flying to Dhaka for the series tentatively on March 11‑12 after playing the second test against Sri Lanka in Lahore.

Now Pakistan will play a series of five ODIs and two Twenty20 Internationals during the Bangladesh tour.

Pakistan is reciprocating by touring Bangladesh after they visited Pakistan to play five match ODI series.

He said PCB Chief Ijaz Butt will be attending the meeting of Executive Board meeting of ICC to be held in Perth on January 31 which besides taking various issue of the item, will decide about holding the Champions Trophy in Pakistan or otherwise.

Salim Altaf said PCB chief after the Executive Board meeting will also visit Melbourne where he will meet chairman of Cricket Australia decide. the upcoming 5‑match ODI series against Pakistan.

He said PCB was making efforts to hold the series in Pakistan or at least to play one ODI against Australia in Pakistan besides playing in United Arab Emirates other agreed venue.

Salim said he will be visiting UAE shortly to inspect facilities for the series at Dubai Sports City, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

He expressed the hope successful staging of the series against Sri Lanka will remove the bad security impressions about Pakistan.
