Any reason why a thread is not let be dead because the content of it does not merit it being there by user participation rather than mod interference.

Forum rules are a guidelines to what action should be taken i think... it seems like things are whimsical here.

NOt every thread needs to be high quality thread. It can be a low quality thread with zero replies die on its own if it doesn't break any rules.
