Dear Sachin
After India’s sensational victory over the redoubtable Aussies at Adelaide Oval, the country has naturally gone berserk with joy, swept away by the euphoria of our unexpected and heroic success. I am no exception to this incredible feat and am still dumbstruck by our superb, gritty show. Yet, the purpose of writing this open letter to you is not to sing hosannas about the Indian team (almost everyone has indulged in that already with extraordinary enthusiasm) or to repeat the obvious eulogies you all so abundantly deserve. I write this note to you as a mere observer, who has followed your career with painstaking involvement.
