Default Interesting captaincy ; Ash as change bowler

In over 28 of the latest ODI, Ash got brought on, replacing Mahmadullah, took a wicket and was then Mahmudullah resumed bowling from that end.

Ash also got used successfully in short spells in the Test matches, bowling a five over and then a one over wicket spell in the first innings of the first WI test, and then a four over wicket spell and a one over spell (which had Best dropped by Kayes at short leg).

Second Test, Ash bowls three overs in the first innings, and one in the second.

Using an occasional legspinner as a change bowler in this way is, in my view, very good captaincy. As a leggie, Ash will flight the ball differently from the finger-spinners, and as a leggie he will bowl some crap that gets hit - and, indeed, mishit (its how every legspinner that is not named SK Warne or WJ O'Reilly has always operated, and will always operate), but it is much easier to mishit a leggie before the bastman has his eye in against him, especially if accurate finger-spinners have been on.

So, good play by the captain, and I hope to see many more games where Ash gets a one- or a four-over spell.
