Aussie pair in trouble

Australian cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Andrew Symonds face a disciplinary inquiry on dissent charges.
The two players have been summoned to attend an inquiry in Colombo following an incident in the second one-day international against Sri Lanka.

They were batting together when umpire Peter Manuel ruled Symonds out lbw.

Both players complained and Manuel brought the batsman back after consulting with the second umpire, but Sri Lanka went on to win.

The margin of victory was by a single run and allowed Sri Lanka to level the five-match series 1-1.

But match referee Mike Procter said Gilchrist and Symonds faced code-of-conduct level one charges - showing dissent by protesting against an umpire's verdict.

They could be reprimanded, fined or banned for one match.
