i think now that we have seen Ashraful for over a decade we are all certain about a few things:
i) he will never be able to play according to the situation
ii) he will always play adventurous shots
iii) he will always have brain farts

Knowing this we need to adjust our expectations of him as a batsman
i) we should not expect him to play with responsibility and carry the innings
ii) we should not expect him to close out games
iii) we should not expect him to safe guard his wicket if there is a collapse

If he is in the side hence we should expect him:
i) to play a lot of strokes and score at a fast pace
ii) score decent amount of runs at the top of the order
iii) build decent platforms with Tamim
iv) take pressure off of Tamim by not getting bogged down

I think in this series he has shown the potential to do what can be expected of him. We must accept Ashraful as he is... whether he is a flawed genius or a talented brain fart as long as he gets decent scores at the top of the order there are other players who can carry the team from there on.
