We need a grueling ruleset for selection. A selector can only pick up from a bank - cannot just come in and do his thing the way he wants to.

For getting into BD national team certain criteria has to be met. Performance - Fitness - Batting - Bowling - Fielding all areas the mercury should be defined.

Also, playing only domestic and scoring doubles not helping. There should be set programs for HP and A squad playing touring internationally.

Playing and doing good U-19 cannot be the only criteria either. They have to be groomed like England, Aus, Ind does. If you are in business you need to take it professionally, casual handling will slowly cause the demise of Cricket like Football.

If for any season the quota of quality players are not fulfilled then scrap national tours and increase A level tours to prepare first. Jumping into the river without knowing all swimming techniques is not going to help.

There also should be some kind of Jobabdihita(justification/punishment) System for any failure - national level, A and age level, in case of faulty selection, poor performance, not able to meet the quota. I do not think we have much set rules in this sector.
Given that the way shahriar nafees, jahurul and mehrabs were handled, yes it is too late. However, if they were playing on the a team or hp team constantly and were in a pool of players that could be drafted into national teams, things could hv been different. Many of this players fades out because there is no hope of making it back to national team.
BCB needs to get rid of its policy of no players 30+. Look at the example of misbah, malik. You need groom all players and when selecting, dont just select players like shanto or liton who may be talented but not anywhere near international quality.

Another thing is, instill guts in our players. When tamim came out against India, he was 17. He hit zaheer, munaf like a boss. I dont see any aggression from these meeky menda newcomers.

Thats why despite all we need sabbir cuz his talent and how he is much better then other new players.
