if you insist that modi was close to bjp you will have a VERY hard time explaining how the congress and allies controlled BCCI(led by sharad pawar from congress ally NCP) gave a whole lot of power to modi to run the IPL !
you should also explain why the new franchises were allotted to cities in congress and communist ruled states and not in bjp model state gujrat.
