Flintoffs lost the plot with the bat, last year he was a mature batsman but is now almost back as he was playing stupid shots all the time.
Bell is having a baptism of fire. I think he will get better with time and end up having a successful international career, but I would personally much rather have Thorpe playing instead of him at the moment.

According to what you say this would be a better batting order for England:
1. Vaughan
2. Trescothick
3. Strauss
4. Pietersen
5. Bell
6. Flintoff

I put Pietersen at four so that he could help England getting a good total instead of trying an almost impossible rescue as it has been in this first test.
