as an aside, interest does grow in this fashion. in my case too it was the ODIs that got me hooked to cricket. test matches came later and has surpassed ODIs or T20 for that matter.
it is kind of an acquired taste, a bit like classical music. at least I don't find anything wrong with the argument. intentions may be a different matter.
