Raina was seen in company of someone who is supposedly connected with bookies. A player can never remember the names and faces of people he should not be seen with. Besides, they meet all kinds of fans and they do spend time with them sometimes taking photographs or attending dinner parties. They cant say no to everyone suspecting that some of them could be bookies or connected to bookies.
The investigation here is not about Rania. It's about BCCI's inaction or failure to report the incident to ICC even after they came to know about it. The law states clearly that if a player or a board comes to know about any possible approach from bookies, they have to report it to ICC.
