New movement with a better case perhaps, wish to see those criminals receive their due and disappear from politics.

Thirteen Jamaat-e-Islami top leaders and activists including its Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami and Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammed Mujahid were sued today for killing two freedom fighters in 1971.


Of the accused, nine are alive and four are dead.

The alive accused are Nizami, Mujahid, two Assistant Secretary Generals of the party Abdul Quader Mollah and Kamruzzaman, party Keraniganj unit ameer Hazi Najimuddin, party Keraniganj district ameer Abul Hashem, Foyzur Rahman Foyez, KG Karim Babla and Yasin while the dead are doctor Joynal, Abdul Khaleq, Abdul Mannan Siddiqui and Punnya Al-Bader.

Mozaffar Ahmed Khan, commander of Dhaka district freedom fighters' unit and maternal uncle of one of the murdered freedom fighters, filed the murder case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, in the capital at about 10:30am. The court accepted the case and hearing of the case was being held till filing the report at about 12:55pm

The case in brief is that the accused nine leaders and activists of the party following the order of the four top brasses of the party-- Nizami, Mujahid, Quader Mollah and Kamruzzaman--killed the two freedom fighters during the Liberation War on November 25 in 1971, calling them from their residences.
The freedom fighters are Golam Mostafa also known as Tukub Ali and Osman Goni. The plaintiff is the uncle of Osman Goni.
