The players still have a minnow mentality. All of them including Shakib. Its evident in many ways two of which being whenever we win we never acknowledge the opposition "Williamson/Masakadza/Azhar played a great game but we were able to win". Second is from Mashrafe to Mushfiq to Shakib to Tamim and Riyad...all of them still refer to teams like West Indies, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka as "big teams". We shouldn't even refer to India or Australia in such inferiority-complex terms let alone teams at our level. Afghanistan just whopped our butts, according to logic that makes them a "big team" too.

All of our core players are 30+ now...this is the best they are going to be be. If we are lucky they have 4-5 years of peak performances left given that Mushy, Riyad, Tamim, all have terrific work ethic (Tamim more recently, don't know abotu Shak).

We don't have the skills to succeed in T20 cricket. Afghanistan is living proof of that. They have been playing top level cricket for 5 years, we've been here for 20 and they still have more IPL players than we do. We should turn our focus to Tests and ODIs instead of these meaningless T20s. We'll always make the main round of WT20 and never make the semis so no point wasting our time on that format.
