Batting order should not be cast in stone. The coach and captain should be flexible to change the order
if necessary. (But, they should not change it arbitrarily, otherwise there will be chaos and mayhem.)
Once the opposing captain declared the inning after a rain to make Bradman's team bat on a "sticky" wicket. (This is during the time when sissy's did not play; wickets would not be covered during rain.) Bradman sent his tail-enders to open the inning and kept sending them until the end of the day. Next morning the wicket was fine and he came in after another wicket fell. He scored a century (naturally) and Australia won the match.
