Not to blame him or anything, but I think this has been very smartly done by SN.
(Just my own suspicion) I think he feels he is not ready yet to come back to test side and it is always better to skip than to risk it and lose it for good, especially after his performance against WI.
For someone like him, there will be plenty of chances in the future and he will be better off putting up a good show in the DPL and try to make a comeback in the ODI/T20 (ref BPL) team that will be Zim bound in April, rather than going to SL as a part of test side.
If that is the case, good on him for doing it so smartly, because the accident seems very unlikely for a long time professional like him. But then again, it could be one of them freakish ones too.
