Ranking isn't comparing. It determines the current state of players' skills and orders them. I have seen people in BC take that ranking way too far and call out JK. For ex. NO Saints fans aren't going nuts tonight because a backup QB- Colin Kaepernick was ahead of Drew Brees in power ranking this week, just because he did good tonight. They know who's better and who was better this week.
Another ex of why I find cricket so laughable compared to other sports.
