Default Baloch sets new women\'s test record

Pakistan's Kiran Baloch has set a new women's Test record with an innings of 242 against West Indies.
The 28-year-old from Hyderabad beat the previous record of 214, set by India's Mithali Raj against England, as Pakistan made 426-7 declared.

"I dedicate this record to all the women cricketers of the world," Baloch said afterwards.

It is only the third Test played by Pakistan's women and precedes seven one-day matches between the teams.

Baloch shared an opening stand of 241 with Sanida Shah, who missed out on a century when she was dismissed for 98.

West Indies, who are playing their first Test, were in trouble on 72-5 at the end of the second day's play.

"We really came out to India and Pakistan primarily for the one-day Internationals because that is where we are trying to gain our experience for the World Cup next year," said coach Ann Browne-John.

The Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association is affiliated to the International Women's Cricket Council, but is not recognised by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
