Thanks for taking the time to read the 'review' fellas. Just thought I'd do my bit to spread the word...

Equinox - activities outside of hitting the beach, not too much to do, they have quad bikes, so you can take them for a spin, jetskis and speedboats, but they don't go out very far - so that's a bummer. Alternatively they do provide package deals to head to Saint Martin, that's a decent way to spend a day. Himchori/Inani and a couple of other places(15-20) minute drive have a few small hills - with waterfalls and potential walking trails. So a packed lunch and a bit of a hike wouldn't go amiss.

Finally, being careful to not step on any toes - all the big hotels are now, setting up bars - alcohol flowing freely, and djs to provide live 'entertainment' - so if you want to see people off their heads, and making a fool of themselves - that's a nice way to spend a few hours after midnight.

Don't think the developers have quite cottoned on to the whole idea of additional recreational activities.

Some other hotels to look out for that are already operational

Long Beach Hotel
Hotel Cox's Today - what a name
Hotel Sea Palace - their Crown plaza building looks decent enough, but the more budget version is shocking, you are better of staying in one of the many serviced apartments than staying in the egg cartons they have masquerading as hotel rooms.

There are many more, but the rest are on the other side of the street or further in, so the whole sitting on the balcony in the evening, enjoying the fresh ocean breeze thing, doesn't quite work.
