Mahmud stars in practice game

The national team styled as BCB Eleven posted a comfortable 41-run win over a Chittagong Jila Krira Sangstha (CJKS) selection in a practice match at the MA Aziz Stadium yesterday.
Apart from skipper Khaled Mahmud, who had an extended time in the middle for a change to top-score with 61, the other senior batsmen found run making difficult in their allotted 40-overs.
Batting first, the Board side managed a modest 197 for seven with contributions coming from Habibul Bashar (33 not out), Rajin Saleh (23) and opening batsman Hannan Sarker (22) apart from the captain. Saleh and Sarker retired to give others a go.
However, newcomers Moniruz-zaman (6) and Jamal Uddin (7) couldn't shine as well as Test all-rounder Mushfiqur Rahman (8).
Rashed and Masum of the local team shared five wickets. The CJKS side scored 153 for eight with Shabib falling one run short of a half-century.
Besides, Masum and Azam each made 21.
Mahmud rounded off a fine day by picking two wickets. Off-spinner Jamal made up for his batting failure snaring two wickets too.
