I agree with strike rate being a more effective analysis of a players merit than using a dot ball percentage. True that dot balls do add to the pressure, but international batsmen back themselves to hit boundaries whilst top players look to put pressure on the opponent by suddenly scoring say 17 in an over when he had been going for an economy rate of 2.80 prior that over.

What Tamim has is self belief not seen in any top 3 batsmen from Bangladesh. His ability is backed up by good statistics with a healthy strike rate of roughly 80. A play
er of Tamim's quality can be seen by his ability to constantly score 50's, which is something only Shakib and Nasir seem to have at the moment to in the current Bangladesh team.

Have belief in Tamim, he's shown the signs of a truly unique talent. He isn't Gayle nor is he Sehwag, for he is Tamim Iqbal. His own playing style is different to any other batsmen in the world at the moment. Great hand eye coordination, good balance and class (which is believe separates him from the gayles of this world, who have immense strength - not to say Tamim isn't strong, rather he has more finesse and technical correctness about his shots).

Don't forget this is only a 24 year old batsmen here we are talking about, he will learn a lot about himself as a batsman if he focuses, and if he does , by his prime (28-32) he could be one of the world best batsman in all formats of the game
