Nafis Iqbal had quite a reputation as a 13-14 year old. Used to hit bowlers twice his size and age for sixes even as a tiny little guy. He wasnt far behind Ashraful at age group level. Unfortunately sth went wrong along the way.

Raqibul Hasan was the most technically sound batsman among his peers (Including Shakib). He wasnt probably as strong willed. Had he been around, our number 3 issue wouldnt be there.

Rajin Saleh another major dissappointment. Whatmore compared his grit to that of De Silva, and said he wanted two or three Rajin's in the team. One of the fittest players, and best fielders in the team. Also known for his work ethic. He was also touted as a future captain from 16.

Finally Mr Alok Kapali who had everything in his arsenal to become a complete batsman with all the shots in the book. In the early 90's i admired Mark Waugh for his elegant batting style. Kapali gave us quite a bit of viewing pleasure in his short yet inconsistent career. Cant explain why he too fizzed out.

This is why the HP Unit is so important. Players will debut do well, and then lose form. Its a natural cycle. Unless we have a mechanism to get these guys back to shape and form we will keep losing out on talent.
