Just want to add few things here. We are ignoring the risk of earthquake. As far as I know it will be on the seismic fault line of three tectonic plate and the this tipaimukh will increase the earthquake risk tremendously. This will also create crisis of drinking water vais. Soil fertility will be reduced and will cause declination of crops 
As Sagor vai mentioned about Farakka, there was a plan to create an alternate dam in reply of Farakka during Pakistan period but Bangladesh govt unfortunately didnt have the spine to create anything like that and now I dont see a ray of hope about TipaiMukh either.
