if the selectors really want to pick someone based on pace then they should pick kamrul rabbi, not the greatest of FC stats but 33 average with a strike rate in the low 50s is a better resume than abul had to go on. taskin is an option but he's less experienced, younger so could have body issues. otherwise go with the likes of al amin, abu jayed, kazi, babu, dolar. there are seriously so many fast bowling options that haven't been tried and tested, ridiculous of the selector to say that they're picking guys like shahadat because there is no other option.

zia was a poor pick for this match and as a replacement. the reason being is that he's barely bowled the last 3 or so years, might have had a couple of decent t20 or one-day outings with the ball but bowling in test cricket is a whole different kettle of fish, you need to be able to bowl 15+ overs in a day and back it up the next day to. someone who has barely bowled for the last 3 years could easily have a tough time bowling that much (fitness wise) in such a short space of time and not get injured. if they really wanted him to be an option in tests they should have gone to him and told him to bowl more in FC matches to get his fitness and body right, until then try one of the other many promising options.
