Default National cricketers are not machines

Read this story from Daily Star:

Trial Tour of Pakistan

Quote:
At least half of the Bangladesh team players will accompany the A team when it flies out on November 27

Quote:
they will be there until the end of December and then return to attend the Zimbabwe camp, which we are planning from January 3

Quote:
"This is going to an acid test for them because if the non-performing cricketers cannot show improvement they will find difficult to get into the selection trials for the tour of Zimbabwe
What if those off form players do perform?

================================

I feel sorry for those off form players of the National Cricket Team who have been playing cricket for more than a year continuously and who will be chosen for the Pakistan tour with the BD 'A' team.

Boredom will affect those players and they will lose interest to play better cricket for Bangladesh national team in the future.

There were players like Nafees Iqbal, Moniruzzaman, Monzurul Islam Rana, and JamalUddin Babu who deserve to go to Pakistan for the 'A' team.

But not players like Alok Kapali, Habibul Bashar, who have been playing for BD national team for over a year now (since the start of the Namibia tour - just before the World Cup 2003, or the WI tour last year).

Remember: Bangladesh's next year hectice schedule of tours are: Namibia tour (13 days- from Jan 28 - Feb 10), Zim tour (5 weeks - Feb 11 - March 15), Ind tour (April), Asia Cup (early May), West Indies tour (15 May - 15 June). And then after some break, ICC Champions trophy in Eng (Sept), NZ tour to BD (Oct), SL tour to BD (Dec).
