Channel 9 last night brought Mr. Ganguly of Game On, to a talk show last night, and he dealt with the pay issue in detail.

All the players were paid an initial 20-25%(depending on what they individually agreed), another 40-50% of the money was to be paid during the course of the tournament(which we must remember was what all over in 3 weeks, not 3 months!), and the final portions of their payments within the next couple of months.

From what he saying, it sounded like the local players, signed the most owner friendly contracts(payments over a longer duration, so some of them might have to wait another 5-6 months to get their full dues).

But as everyone knows by now, the BCB/BPL governing body has cash deposits from all the franchises as security in case they don't meet their obligations. And there is an official procedure for players to deal with this issue. So in the final analysis - NO ONE will go away from BPL-1, without getting their full payment.
