Default Tiger Manifesto

Quote:
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could fram thy fearful symmetry?
And thus were the immortal words of William Blake.

If World Cup would be a rumble in the jungle, then the players should adopt, attribute and evolve into the menacing prowess of Tigers themselves.

It's not another empty metaphor.

Etymology

Quote:
The word "tiger" is taken from the Greek word "tigris", which is possibly derived from a Persian source meaning "arrow", a reference to the animal's speed and also the origin for the name of the Tigris river
Just like the name implies, the Tigers in the field are expected to be sharp like arrow with piercing mind-body intelligence that reflects in their performance. Whether it's Rubel, Mashrafe, or Shafiul bowling they are right on the target.

Motto

"Doura baagh ailo." [Run the Tigers are coming.]

Just like the animal archetype, Tigers are muscular in physique and solidly built. They are alert when enemies are asleep; and gives opponent no advantage of stealing scores.

Tiger father begets tiger son.
Chinese proverb

Like the beasts themselves, they stubbornly live to perform for 10-15 years or even 20 in 'captivity'.

Territorial behaviour

Quote:
Tigers are usually solitary in nature, interacting briefly only for mating purposes and occasionally to share their kill. However, there has been a few rare instances documented in which tigers have collaborated on a hunt, similar to a pride of lions.
Quote:
Tigers assert and maintain their control over their territories by continuously patrolling them.
Link

It's a strange paradox as even when the batsman are playing in tandem their individualistic performances still shine through. Solitary but not aloof.

Habitat

Tigers live in a diverse habitats such as tropical rainforests, mangrove swamps, evergreen forests, grasslands, savannahs, and rocky areas. In cricket field it translates to high flexibility in adapting to any terrain and pitch conditions.

Tigers and deer do not stroll together.
Skills
  • Tigers are powerful swimmers.
  • Tigers can leap up to great heights horizontally.
  • Bengal tiger's roar can be heard up to miles away.
In nature a dangerous tiger deserves a good day.

Hunting

Fierce predators, and are capapble of killing animals of twice their size. Daily activity cycle include day-night patrolling

He who plays with a tiger must expect to be scratched.
