Hathurusingha: Best time to beat South Africa at their home

“South Africa (are) a big challenge for any team. Arguably they are one of the best Test teams in the last 10 years. It’s going to be challenge. But that’s what you play cricket for. It’s an opportunity for us to see where we are at. So we take that challenge and we embrace the challenge,” Hathurusingha told the media during the pre-Test match press conference at Senwes Park Wednesday.

“However if you want to play South Africa then I think this is the best time. They got a new coach, a few injuries. This is a good time to play against them.

“They got some new players coming in. But at the same time their nucleus (are) still playing, Hashim Amla and Du Plessis, and also Dean Elgar are pretty good players in the last few years. As some of their new players are coming in, it’s a good opportunity for us to getting to their middle-order early. That’s one thing we are trying to exploit,” he said.
