He cannot answer the root cause of the issue. He is touching on surface level issues like wrong planning, impatience of batsmen, their lack of application etc.
But after 20 years of playing cricket, BCB head needs to answer:
- why have be failed to develop a single genuine pacer?
- why have we failed to develop spinners who can truly turn the ball?
- why is our opening still so brittle?
- why have we failed to develop batsmen who can consistently apply themselves or show patience?
- honestly speaking - why after 20 years of playing cricket Bangladesh has to play test cricket with pathetic players like Soumya, Sabbir, Liton, Mosaddek?
Call me a pessimist or whatever, but I do not believe anymore that we can improve. This is our limit. Period. We simply do not have hunger, patience, self-discipline, self-esteem, and determination, both at individual and collective level, to rise above mediocrity and be professional. And we are also not talented like the PAK or SL players to compensate those bad traits. We have tried to hide it for 20 years with CHAPABAJI and excuse but maiden test loss to AFG - a war torn country - has exposed everything.
