A lot of the local papers reporting today that the child said he recognized the killers as having been at family gatherings/picnics etc.
So it looks like, it might be a family vendetta.
The grill they cut to apparently 'break in' was too small for an adult to squeeze through - it was simply a lame attempt at putting the investigators off.
