Yes Pilot is a very intelligent person and a tactician of the game as well as he was very good wicket keeper. His problem (while he was was the captain) was elsewhere... he was young and had disciplinary problem like Tamim/Sakib has/had.
But is he dumb? No way... completely opposite of that.
