Captain's plea to fans
"Dear Bangladesh fans, it came to my notice that after the Asia Cup final a fan took his life and another died of shock. The incidents are very sad for us. On behalf of my team, I appeal to all the fans: this is only a game and everyone should take it in that way and enjoy the game. We never want to lose but not always can we win. My team and I would like to pass on our condolences to the families who lost their dear ones.
Another unfortunate thing is there have been attacks on the homes of two of our players, Shahadat Hossain and Nazimuddin. I earnestly request our fans to refrain from such activities. No one loses on purpose."
