Bengali cuisine would not be complete without Shutki ( dry fish), especially Shutki Bhorta.

Current situation: New format, new skipper, new players, new type of wicket.

Mushfiqur and his men will be looking forward to their first win of this tour when they tackle the Black Caps in the first test match at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.

Making the right decisions and playing good quality of cricket should open the door for Bangladesh to push the Kiwis all the way. The Kiwis are a tough opposition at home, recent records have shown that; even when down, they have that fight in them to deliver a backlash. Bangladesh should be mindful of that.

In the last 2 years, there have been 10 tests played in New Zealand of which the hosts have won 7 and lost two. Those two defeats have come at the hands of their neighbor across the Tasman Sea. So this isn’t going to be a normal match for Bangladesh; they have to play tough cricket.

Tests played in NZ in the last 2 years:

LostTiedDraw
New Zealand2014-2016107201
Australia2016-201622000
India2014-201420101
Pakistan2016-201620200
Sri Lanka2015-201540400

So if Bangladesh manage to pull off a win, it will be monumental; only team from sub-continent with a win in NZ in over 2 years.

Taskin set to make his debut, and also lead the pace attack.
New Zealand have not declared any news yet of who's gonna play or debut. Jeet Raval and Grandhomme are expected to play after an excellent debut series for both of them against the Pakistanis late last year.

More news to follow./

Oh, one more thing, the match starts at 04:00 Dhaka time...

The optimist in me is saying a Bangladesh win, while my pessimistic side is urging me to yell, 'DRAW!!'

May the better team win.

Go Tigerrrsssss!!!!!!
